And these other types of medication are really interfering. I just want to feel the initial great effects that I felt with Wellbutrin - the increased energy, better concentration, etc. Before I tried Wellbutrin, I went on the lowest dosage of Zoloft and felt so sleepy I couldn't get out of bed for 12 hours! All the health professionals I have spoken to are astounded by how little it takes for me to feel those types of effects. Me being a young small female, I know it puts me at larger risk to feel sensitive to the sedating effects of medication. I'm female, 5'1", 107 lbs, and 21 years old. Now I'm on 0.125 mg of Klonopin and I'm feeling so sleepy and have these huge headaches (and I only get headaches when I'm sleep deprived). Then I tried 2.5 mg of buspirone and it made me feel not only really sleepy, but apathetic. It didn't do a good job of combating the anxiety exacerbated by the higher dosage of Wellbutrin. I tried 6.25 mg of trazodone, and it also made me feel really sleepy during the day. I tried 0.25 mg of melatonin, and it made me feel really slowed down and depressed during the day. I take Wellbutrin first thing in the morning - and the particular medication to help me sleep right before I sleep at night. The problem is, I have not been able to find a medication to help me sleep that has not made me completely drowsy and sleepy during the day. I started out on Wellbutrin about 6 months ago, and after a month of being on the 150 mg XL I was bumped up to 300 mg - since my psychiatrist believed the 300 mg made me more confident and more uninhibited in my communication.
